Biggest Christmas Parties in Swaziland!
This past weekend we had Servolution at Healing Place Church Swazi - this is an opportunity for our church members to serve the community. We combined forces with Children’s Cup to help with their massive Christmas parties for the orphaned and vulnerable children that they serve. A whole slew of people came out both Saturday and Sunday to volunteer at the parties. It was awesome! I’m so proud of our church and great foundation of serving we are building into the DNA of this brand new church.
On Saturday we entertained about 4000 children from CarePoints around the town of Manzini. Children’s Cup currently has 12 CarePoints surrounding this town where children receive daily meals, medical care, schooling for the most severe cases, and Bible teaching. For the Christmas party we brought all the kids to a field where we had jumping castles, a water slide, face painting, cricket, soccer, net ball and all sorts of fun! They also received a meal and ice cream plus a Christmas gift at the end of the event.
Then on Sunday, we did the same thing only with about 700 children in the town of Maphiveni about 1.5 hours from Mbabane. Our church met at 7 am to load onto buses and koombi’s (kloom-bee – mini buses that people use all the time for transportation) to drive and meet with a sister church up there called Christian Family Center. We estimated we had 150 people come from our church to serve! How awesome!
